WCI Donegal
Women’s Collective Donegal is a grassroots community project in Donegal, prompting and supporting women’s empowerment, equality and human rights. We work to bring a ‘gender lens’ to mainstream community and local development initiatives. Providing supportive and friendly spaces for women to come together for social activities and community education opportunities.
We respond to the needs of women through a range of programmes and activities and have been in operation for over 20 years (formally as NCCWN Donegal Women’s Network). The courses, events and workshops we run for women are diverse and cover a range of topics and interests including;
· Crafting
· Health and Wellbeing
· Menopause talks
· DIY
And much more.
WCI-Donegal carried out a survey to capture the needs of women in Donegal, over 570 women took part in the survey. The Women's Needs Assessment Report 2025 is out and available here.
Meet the Team
Danielle Bonner
Coordinator
Danielle works as Coordinator for the WCI Donegal project and is responsible for the effective day-to-day running, management, and development of the Project.
Danielle is also responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and supporting the work of WCI Donegal.
Rhona Hannigan
Development Worker
Rhona is the Development Worker with WCI Donegal, helping Danielle to develop programmes and courses for women in the local area.
Rhona holds the responsibility of networking with women in the local area, by facilitating and supporting women's engagement within the Project.
Sinead Doherty
Project Worker
Sinead operates as WCI Donegal's Project Worker, ensuring the day-to-day administration of the WCI Donegal office, including the responsibility of preparing and administrating finances.
Sinead also supports the project by engaging with grassroots women and has proven herself to be of vital help, having previously managed WCI's website.
