Empower Her - Domestic Abuse Recovery Programme
One of Womenâs Collective Ireland's initiatives help survivors heal through the Empower Her Programme: a trauma-informed recovery programme offering free counselling, along with a group programme, with practical wraparound services and holistic supports. Empowering you to reclaim your life after domestic abuse, focusing on healing, tools for recovery and growth, and creating pathways for your new future.
This free confidential service includes 8 one-to-one counselling sessions online and a 7-week in-person group programme.Â
In a safe, respectful and non judgemental space, youâll gain practical tools, emotional support, and life skills to help you move forward after experiences of domestic abuse or coercive control, with holistic wraparound supports.Â
**The programme is to support long term recovery post separation and not a crisis intervention service. Â
Jennifer Phillips, Coordinator at Womenâs Collective Ireland - Tallaght, explains âThere is a lot of shame attached to these experiences, which are unjustified. The shame shouldnât lie with the survivor. We want survivors to have a community behind them, so they have a safe space to heal.â
Part 1:Â Domestic Abuse CounsellingÂ
We offer free confidential counselling online for women affected by abuse with an IACP accredited counsellor, specialising in domestic abuse prior to the in-person programme. Â
Part 2: 7 Week ProgrammeÂ
In-person confidential classes with other survivors to equip you with the tools needed for recovery from the long-term impacts of abuse to forge a new life for yourself. Â
During 2026 Empower Her is available in WCI Tallaght, Lucan, Limerick and Monaghan with new locations being added from January 2027.
Women's Collective Ireland also provide a full range of general educational courses and social groups for women that can help combat isolation and support wellbeing. Â Â
WCI is proud to have the support of Rethink Ireland through the Brighter Futures Fund, helping survivors rebuild confidence, reconnect with their communities and feel less alone. Support from the fund will expand this work across Womenâs Collective Irelandâs locations around the country.
